We were in a dilapidated village surrounded by woodland, where everything was run-down and... ominous, in various ways. The house I stayed in always had strange noises...
There were other places we could visit, but they were all a bit sad or unsettling in their own ways, I think.
... Which I know isn't as big of a deal as the people here who are fighting monsters and saving the world, but we don't have magic or anything like that in my world.
There's nothing wrong with that. Having something to be passionate about, that you can use to better yourself in some way... I think that's really nice.
